Puerto Naos

Puerto Naos sits on the western coast of La Palma, in an area known for its dark volcanic sand beaches and the banana plantations that spread across the surrounding lowlands. As one of the island’s few true seaside resorts, it has grown up around the shoreline as a place for swimming, strolling along the promenade and watching the sun sink into the Atlantic, a view for which this side of the island is particularly noted.

The settlement’s character reflects the wider West region of La Palma, where volcanic terrain meets the sea in steep, dramatic fashion, and where agriculture and tourism sit side by side. Puerto Naos remains a modest, low-key base for visitors drawn to the west coast’s black-sand beaches and its reputation for some of the finest sunsets in the Canary Islands.
