Los Ajaches

Los Ajaches occupies the southeastern corner of Lanzarote, a rugged massif of ancient volcanic origin that forms one of the island’s oldest landscapes. Protected as a Natural Monument, the area is defined by weathered peaks, ravines and a coastline of low cliffs that contrast with the flatter, more developed terrain elsewhere on the island.

The terrain here is sparsely populated and largely untouched by construction, giving Los Ajaches a wild, open character shaped by wind erosion and volcanic history. Its trails and viewpoints offer a sense of Lanzarote’s geological past, away from the resort areas further north.

As a protected natural area, Los Ajaches is valued chiefly for its scenery and ecological interest rather than any built attractions, making it a quiet counterpoint to the island’s busier coastal towns.
