Teror
Teror is an inland town in northern Gran Canaria, known for the Basilica del Pino, its well-preserved old town and the surrounding mountains.
Teror sits inland among the hills of northern Gran Canaria, a town whose historic core has long served as a focal point for the island’s religious life. At its heart stands the Basilica del Pino, the church dedicated to the island’s patroness, the Virgin of the Pine, which draws visitors and pilgrims from across Gran Canaria and lends the town much of its character and significance.
Around the basilica, Teror Old Town preserves a distinctive Canarian townscape, with wooden balconies, tiled roofs and narrow streets that reflect a building style typical of the island’s older settlements.
