Haría

Haría lies in the north of Lanzarote, a municipality of whitewashed villages set among valleys once thick with palm trees, a landscape quite different from the volcanic starkness found elsewhere on the island. The area is inland in character, its scattered settlements tucked beneath ridges that eventually give way to the dramatic cliffs facing out towards La Graciosa.

Much of Haría’s appeal lies underground and along its northern edge, where the same ancient lava tube runs through the landscape. The Cueva de los Verdes offers a walk through cavernous volcanic tunnels, while further along the same system the Jameos del Agua opens into collapsed craters shaped into a natural and architectural attraction. Above it all, the Mirador del Río perches on the cliffs, giving sweeping views across the strait to La Graciosa and the smaller islets beyond.

Together these sites make Haría a natural point of reference for exploring Lanzarote’s volcanic north, combining quiet village surroundings with some of the island’s most distinctive geological features.
