Playa Jablillo
Playa Jablillo is a modest, rock‑framed beach within Costa Teguise on Lanzarote’s east coast, offering calmer water than the open Atlantic shoreline nearby and a low‑key alternative to the island’s larger, wind‑exposed beaches.
Playa Jablillo lies within Costa Teguise, the planned resort that grew across Lanzarote’s central‑east coast from the late twentieth century onward. Unlike the older fishing settlements further south around Arrecife, this shoreline was laid out with tourism in mind, and its beaches sit within easy reach of low‑rise hotels, apartments and the promenades that link the resort together.

The coast here is volcanic, with dark rock outcrops breaking the shoreline into a series of small coves rather than one continuous strand. Jablillo occupies one of these pockets, enclosed by rock formations that soften the trade winds and reduce the swell, giving the beach a quieter, more sheltered feel than the open water further along the coast.
Lanzarote’s east side catches the prevailing trade winds that define much of the island’s climate, cooling the air even in high summer and stirring the sea along exposed stretches. Jablillo’s position among the rocks takes the edge off that wind, making it a comfortable spot for swimming and for visitors who prefer calmer conditions.
Because it sits so close to the built‑up part of Costa Teguise, Playa Jablillo works well as a short, easy stop rather than a destination beach — a place to drop down to the water from a nearby street, swim in relatively gentle conditions, and return to the resort’s cafés and promenades afterwards.
