Los Gigantes

Los Gigantes takes its name from the sheer volcanic cliffs that rise along this stretch of Tenerife’s western coastline, forming one of the island’s most dramatic natural backdrops. The resort grew up beside these towering rock faces, and its small harbour remains a focal point, with boats setting out to explore the base of the cliffs and the waters beyond in search of dolphins and whales.

As part of the island’s western region, Los Gigantes has a quieter, more compact feel than the larger resorts further south, shaped by the steep terrain that limits its spread. The seafront promenade and marina area give the town its rhythm, while the surrounding volcanic landscape and black-sand character of the coast reflect the wider geology of this part of Tenerife.
