Pico de las Nieves
Pico de las Nieves is the highest peak on Gran Canaria, rising above the island’s central massif with sweeping views over Roque Nublo, the Caldera de Tirajana and the rugged highland terrain of La Cumbre.
Pico de las Nieves is the highest point on Gran Canaria, reaching an elevation of 1,949 metres above sea level. Located in the island’s central highlands, it forms part of the rugged volcanic massif known as La Cumbre, a region defined by steep ridges, deep calderas and expansive mountain scenery.

From the summit, visitors can enjoy panoramic views across the island. To the west rises the iconic Roque Nublo, while the vast Caldera de Tirajana stretches southward toward the coast. On clear days, the silhouette of Mount Teide on Tenerife appears on the horizon.
The peak’s volcanic origins are evident in its surrounding landscape, shaped by millions of years of erosion and uplift. Pine forests, rocky outcrops and high‑altitude vegetation create a distinctive environment that contrasts sharply with the coastal zones below.

Pico de las Nieves is easily accessible by road, making it one of the most visited viewpoints in Gran Canaria’s interior. The area is also a starting point for several hiking routes that traverse the highlands, connecting the summit with Roque Nublo, Llanos de la Pez and the surrounding volcanic terrain.
The peak’s combination of altitude, geology and far‑reaching views makes it one of the most significant natural landmarks on Gran Canaria.
