Playa Morro Jable
Playa Morro Jable is a sheltered pale‑sand beach at the southern tip of the Jandía peninsula, backed by volcanic hills and shaped by calm Atlantic conditions. Its position beside the former fishing village turned resort gives it a distinctive southern character.
Playa Morro Jable lies at the southern end of the Jandía peninsula, where dry volcanic hills descend toward a calm Atlantic shoreline. The beach forms part of a long chain of pale sand that stretches along this coast, backed by the town that grew from a small fishing settlement into the main resort centre of southern Fuerteventura.

The inland terrain is typical of Jandía’s southern flank: bare, weathered slopes with sparse vegetation adapted to strong sun and minimal rainfall. The beach’s sheltered position gives it calmer water than the more exposed northern shores, contributing to its steady light and gentle gradient into the sea.
The sand carries the pale mineral tone characteristic of Jandía’s beaches, and the wide shoreline provides space even during busy periods. The atmosphere differs from the raw dune landscapes further north, reflecting the town’s development around the coast while still retaining a sense of openness.

Behind the beach, the Jandía massif rises in a rugged silhouette, its volcanic ridgelines a constant reminder of the geological forces that shaped the peninsula. The combination of calm water, pale sand and volcanic backdrop makes Playa Morro Jable one of the region’s most characteristic southern beaches.
